Holyoke Gas & Electric serves approximately 18,000 electric customers and experiences a summer peak load of approximately 80 MW. HG&E serves its electric load through a combination of its own generation assets and the purchase of electricity from other providers. HG&E’s primary generation assets include the Hadley Falls Hydroelectric Generators, which produce 33MW at the Hadley Falls Dam on the Connecticut River. HG&E produces another 15 MW of power from smaller hydro units located throughout the Holyoke Canal System.
HG&E originally pursued eLogger to streamline their operations and get away from multiple spreadsheets. By having a central location for their daily logs, they will have the ability to search and differentiate between the gas and electric divisions. Employees communication will increase and reporting will be sent out properly each day, ready for the next shift.
