Water/Waste

Clear, Insightful, Common-Sense Logbooks

Every municipality or organization managing water faces tough and changing regulations, compliance requirements, and detailed tracking requirements. Unfortunately for the folks trying to operate in those complex environments, water municipalities vary so much between facilities that no single software solution exists that encompasses them all (or all of their needs). This makes it hard for water municipalities to simplify their log keeping, which leaves a whole lot of you either staring down that green ledger, or cobbling together some combination of spreadsheets, documents, and possibly a la carte software to make sense of daily log keeping.

At eLogger, we know that regulators demand compliance, and we know the rules are always subject to change. We know you have a large amount of data to track, equipment to monitor, multiple locations, and a number of users, each requiring varying degrees of access. We know because we work for hundreds of water facilities. And although every single one is different, they need similar things from their logbooks: transparency, efficiency, better communications, and accountability. eLogger is built around these four goals.

Water clients’ success often hinges on the talent and success of their operators. eLogger is designed by operators, for operators. The software is configured to be as minimal a distraction from the work your team is doing as possible. Your software shouldn’t dictate your workflow- your workflow should determine the way your software works. The organization of information in eLogger makes your logbooks clear, insightful, and most of all, common-sense. It’s easy to find your information in eLogger because it will be where you’d think it would be.

Treatment

eLogger’s water treatment clients have complex needs, since their particular plants are often unique to their municipality. What’s that old joke? “If you’ve seen one water plant, you’ve seen one water plant?” The truth is, our water clients use eLogger for everything in their treatment plants, from soup to nuts: In their laboratories, for their daily activity logs, to track sampling, chain of custody, media preparation autoclave monitoring…everything.

Using eLogger for these tasks helps them have a clean and indisputable record of everything they’ve done, with delete privileges exclusively granted to supervisors, and every change tracked and recorded.  Because of this access protection and record integrity, even plant inspections can be done in eLogger.

Safety

Most plants must perform inspections to comply with OSHA regulations, documenting everything from fire system weekly tests, fire extinguisher inspections, eye wash station inspections to other safety related items, like slippery stairs and cracked pavement. Using eLogger for these inspections improves compliance and thereby accountability, and transparency where it’s most critical.

Environmental

All facilities have some environmental requirements, necessitating weekly, monthly, and annual documented inspections. Using eLogger to marshal and organize environmental compliance improves transparency, which makes accountability a much more pleasant process. Moreover, ready access to up-to-the-minute inspection information aids communication and improves efficiency.

EPA/OSHA

Satisfying regulatory reporting requirements can be cumbersome and time consuming. eLogger can preformat data for automatic upload, reporting, and ready communication. You can click a button to generate and email your report, upload it, whatever. It’s a communications tool, and will help you be accountable when you need to be.

Day-To-Day Operations

From fleet operations to meeting agendas and notes, our water clients track many aspects of day-to-day operations in eLogger. Noise complaints, conversation records, emergency call-outs, finance reporting, even important phone numbers- all can be tracked, stored, and retrieved in eLogger. This can be an incredible tool, finally ridding your facility of stacks of miscellaneous notes and notepads, and making useful information available both to your staff, and to your management.

Operator Rounds

eLogger Anywhere allows operators to continue making log entries, regardless of internet connectivity/network availability. The ability to enter, review, and quickly see snapshots of data while making rounds simplifies and expedites the rounds process, making it more efficient, more transparent, and improving communications.

Shift Turnover

Communicating between operations, management and maintenance can be a difficult, especially in the thick of a busy shift. With eLogger, streamlining the flow of information from operations to management is built into the software itself. Aggregating shift information, culling important data from other systems and incorporating them seamlessly into reports that can be automatically sent to anyone you choose provides enormous value for overall communications. Equipment issues, safety information – anything you wish to capture- can be readily shared with whomever needs to know, immediately.

Visitor Log

Throughout the day there are several visitors coming and going from your facility. Whether it is a scheduled meeting, delivery or walk-in, it’s important to know who is on company grounds. Most clients using eLogger have created a visitor log to keep buildings secure and employees safe. It is extremely important to have this ability to track, search and communicate amongst your team. If there is ever a time where issues arise, you can easily trace any given day, time and building.
