Matanuska Electric Association, Inc. (MEA) has purchased eLogger to use at their Eklutna Generation Station.
MEA is Alaska’s oldest and second-largest electric cooperative. MEA covers more than 4,000 miles of power lines and is owned and operated by its members. MEA is in the process of building Eklutna Generation Station which is a 170 NW natural gas powered plant and is scheduled to be operational by January 1, 2015. MEA chose to install 10 Wärtsilä engines for this plant because they are low-emission machines that are over 48% efficient, using cutting-edge technology to produce clean and efficient electrical power. The Eklutna Generation Station will allow MEA to fulfill their mission of bringing reliable, affordable power to the residents and businesses of Alaska.
